Guest Chef Betty will be doing the teaching and you’ll be doing the cooking.

Doors open at 6.15pm for registration with a view to starting the class at 6.40pm sharp for introductions, health & safety (this also allows people to arrive ontime after work) so that we may commence cooking at 7pm. We invite you to bring your own containers for any leftover food. At the end of the class you will also be invited to take a seat at your table with your group to enjoy your creations and enjoy a Q&A with the guest chef. And we’ll provide you with a feedback form to complete. Class will end at 9.15/9.30pm.

We also offer 2x concessionary priced tickets at £6 each. These are for people who would not normally be able to afford full priced tickets whether you are working/ student/ unemployed – if this is you, please drop us an email (details below). If tickets are no longer available for this session you can ask to be put on to a list for future sessions, if you wish.
And we offer 2x volunteer tickets for people who have attended our sessions previously; you help us run the session in return for a free ticket. You still participate but inbetween help us with the smooth running and help at the end with cleaning up. Ask us in person/ email us (details below)

Transparency: Your ticket price allows us to pay the team just above London living wage for time spent on anything to do with the class and a fee of £90 to the guest chef (also calculated just above London living wage with 3hrs for planning and 4.5hrs for delivery the session on the actual day), ingredients, fuel, hall hire, paypal fees, 15% contribution to our overheads (this includes insurance, accountancy fees, etc.), and the ability to offer two concessionary priced tickets per session.

As always in our classes you can expect to prepare 3-4 dishes hands-on in small groups of up to 6 max. You will be working as a group and as is the community ethos of our society you will help with composting, recycling, washing-up and cleaning your station. We do not do the washing up; you do the washing up.

The class will follow our usual 3 step method:
1) Vegan/ Plant-based/ Set animal products aside
2) Low in fats/ minimize the use of oils
3) Low-Gl/ Low-Glycaemic/ Unprocessed/ Cooking from scratch
We use ingredients that are accessible so that you may be able to recreate the recipe easily at home. However, for the vegan/ guest chef of colour series we may take the opportunity to introduce you new ingredients that we wouldn’t normally use in our cooking classes.
