Event Description
Event hosted by Veg Society of DC Vegan Meetup. This is a free event.

The Veg Society of DC (VSDC) Vegan Thanksgiving Celebration (https://vsdc.org/Thanksgiving-2020) continues with this special virtual event that will bring together vegans, vegetarians, and the veg-curious. Sign up now to celebrate Thanksgiving Day with many like-minded people who believe in plant-strong, vegan diet and lifestyle.

The event features an insightful talk by Victoria Moran, titled
"Vegan Vitality in COVID Times."

As Victoria says: "Few of us reached adulthood without thinking that we did indeed, as the ancient Chinese blessing/curse would have it, "...live in interesting times." That's more applicable now that it's been at any point in our lives. While individual circumstances dictate the degree of difficulty we're experiencing, everyone is going through stress, uncertainty, and unsettling changes in our routines. In this Thanksgiving presentation, Victoria Moran (Main Street Vegan) will share suggestions for self-care, re-framing, personal growth, and vitality maintenance that we can use right now to mine some of the silver lining from inside this dark cloud, and use the resultant energy, positivism, and inner peace to further the vegan cause and be a source of healing for ourselves and all beings."

Victoria Moran is a vegan of 36 years and the Oprah-featured author of thirteen books including Main Street Vegan, Shelter for the Spirit, and Creating a Charmed Life. As part of an undergraduate program in comparative religions, she studied vegans in the UK in the early 1980s, resulting in her first book, Compassion the Ultimate Ethic. These days, Victoria hosts the Main Street Vegan Podcast and is founder and director of Main Street Vegan Academy, training and certifying Vegan Lifestyle Coaches and Educators. She is also the lead producer of the 2019 documentary, A Prayer for Compassion. A yoga practitioner since age seventeen, Victoria became a Registered Yoga Teacher during the time COVID.
