Event Description
Event hosted by VegMed, ProVeg. This is a paid event.

The next VegMed congress will take place from 28 February - 2 March 2021, this time digitally: VegMed Web 2021.

VegMed is a unique international scientific conference, bringing plant-based nutrition into mainstream medicine. The congress is aimed at physicians, medical students and scientists as well as nutritionists and related disciplines. People in academic healthcare professions are also invited.

Due to the pandemic VegMed 2021 will be held as an online conference to provide the necessary safety and certainty. Tickets for VegMed 2020 will remain valid for VegMed Web 2021. An online event is currently the safest and most feasible solution for everyone involved. At the same time, it also provides new possibilities: a greater number of international experts and participants, even more perspectives from global research and nutritional-medicine practices, along with online social events that will create the interactive and lively conference atmosphere for which VegMed has been known since its inception. We are also pleased that the corresponding ecological footprint of a physical event will be reduced, thus contributing to the mitigation of the climate crisis.

VegMed Web 2021 will be featuring the most pressing issues and top speakers in the field of plant-based nutrition in medicine and healthcare. The final program for VegMed Web 2021 will be published shortly. About 80% of the speakers who originally planned to participate in VegMed 2020 have already confirmed their participation for VegMed Web 2021, including Prof Martin Smollich, Dr Jennifer Trilk, Dres Ayesha and Dean Sherzai, Dr Michael Greger, Dr PH Walter Willett, and many more.

In addition to the preventive and therapeutic aspects of plant-based nutrition, the conference will also address the impact of different dietary patterns on the climate crisis as well as the associated impacts on health, the influence of our diet on antimicrobial resistance, and the various aspects of zoonotic diseases and pandemics. We will also extensively discuss the different options for implementation of nutrition in healthcare in everyday medical practice, in healthcare systems and in health policy.

CME certification has already been confirmed for VegMed Web 2021.

We are looking forward to hosting an event full of lively and thorough discussion as well as gaining invaluable information and skills to take home.
