Event Description
VegMed is Europe's biggest scientific conference on plant-based nutrition
Accredited for 5 CPD hours by the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine.
The conference has been previously held in Berlin and is to be held in the UK for the first time in 2019 at King’s College London.
VegMed is aimed at physicians, medical students and scientists as well as nutritionists and related disciplines. People in academic healthcare professions are also invited.
As Europe’s biggest conference on plant-based nutrition, it boasts an impressive line-up of speakers including; Dr Michael Greger, founder of NutritionFacts.org and acclaimed author of ‘How Not to Die’, internationally renowned nutritionist Brenda Davis, Dr Neal Barnard - President of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine and Dr Michael Klaper who has been featured in several award-winning films focused on health and sustainable living, including “Diet For A New America”, “What the Health”, and “Cowspiracy.”
It is anticipated that the conference will sell out each day with near half of the tickets sold already. For the full speaker schedule visit VegMed.org
Philip Mansbridge, Executive Director of ProVeg UK, said: “We are delighted to bring to the UK medical and public audiences an impressive list of speakers, presenting the most up-to-date research on plant-based nutrition and medicine.
“VegMed provides a much-needed platform to address an imbalance within the medical profession. It is well documented that diet and lifestyle play a large role in preventing many of the UK’s biggest killers, yet only a handful of hours are dedicated to nutrition education for medical professionals here in the UK.”
VegMed was established in (2012) by Charité University Clinic for Naturopathy at Immanuel Hospital Berlin and ProVeg International. In 2019 it is conducted by ProVeg UK and their partner, Plant Based Health Professionals UK.
Please note that refreshments will be available during the breaks and a buffet lunch will be provided.
