Event Description

Eat, drink, & be merry this holiday season with our second annual Tour of Hoboken’s Vegan Friendly restaurants! Last year was a big success, with that event being our most popular. So we are bringing it back for anyone who missed it, or would like to join us again. There will be some old favorites as well as new locations to try. Enjoy light bites, succulent juices, and scrumptious feasts. For this tour we’ll focus on downtown Hoboken. With the choices below, you will leave extremely full and completely nourished!

Food Tour Locations:
Simply Juiced - 262A 1st St
Tony Boloney’s Pizzeria - 263 1st St
Shaka Bowl - 110 Washington St
Quality Greens Kitchen - 227 Washington St
Mamoun's - 300 Washington St

We will start the tour at Simply Juiced on 1st St between Park and Willow Avenues (closer to Willow) which offers a myriad of choices for fresh juices and smoothies as well as sandwiches and desserts. We will then cross the street to Tony Boloney's, a pizza joint that now has an expanded vegan menu serving vegan pizzas (with cheese!), subs & burritos, fries & nachos, pasta bowls, and soup! We will then continue the tour by making our way to Washington Street where we will visit Shaka Bowl, Quality Greens Kitchen, and Mamoun's Falafel.

Shaka Bowl, which has another location on Monroe St, is a nice addition to busy Washington St. They offer BBQ jackfruit tacos, which are vegan as long as you omit the shaka sauce. You can also indulge in a variety of smoothies and vegan baked goods. Yum!

At Quality Greens Kitchen you can pick and choose what ingredients you want to build a meal with signature and custom salads, as well as chef's plates where you can choose from a variety of sides to pair with their grilled organic tofu, or make a meal with three yummy side dishes, which are hearty and filling on their own. The menu screens clearly identify the vegan options and dressings, and you can ask the friendly staff for assistance if needed. For dessert you can treat yourself to their soft serve fruit with a variety of toppings.

Mamoun's offers their signature falafel sandwiches with delicious sides, or you can opt for a platter. You can also choose from other vegan offerings such as their lentil soup with pita chips or grape leaves. Mamoun's also offers specialty drinks including mint lemonade, mango, and tamarind. They also offer mouth-watering pastries including baklava, knafe, mabrumeh.

For anyone interested in continuing the fun after the official food tour, we will be picking a local bar to continue our merry-making! We will be staying in downtown Hoboken conveniently near the PATH station for anyone who needs to get back to NYC, or travel to Jersey City or Newark.

As we are an environmentally friendly group, as well as animal friendly, we ask our members that if it is possible, to please bring your own reusable utensils and straws to reduce waste along our food tour.

We also ask that if you have one, to wear a vegan t-shirt, hat, pins, etc. Anything you have to show your vegan pride! We want these establishments to see a large, proud group of compassionate vegans who are enjoying their vegan food options in hopes they will add even more options. We are a large community and are only growing. We aren't going anywhere!

You don't need to be vegan to join us. Vegetarian and Vegan curious people are welcome, but we ask that everyone order vegan meals during the tour to promote our cause: veganism.

We are doing this meetup in conjunction with The New York City Vegetarian & Vegan Meetup. **As with all our meetups, everyone pays for their own meals.** Please note our group starts 30 mins prior to NYC group for local people able to arrive earlier. Feel free to join at 7pm.

If you are not able to join us at the beginning of the tour and need to check on our location, we will provide a phone# for one of the organizers the day of the event. We will also try to update our location in the comments.

We look forward to seeing everyone!!
