SWEET FARM! WEDS OCT. 23 AT 6 PM
Sweet Farm was created in 2015 by two dedicated animal rights supporters, Anna Sweet and Nate Salpeter who wanted to create a sanctuary to increase advocacy and awareness for farmed animals, while leaning on their backgrounds in technology to enable global impact.
Sweet Farm offers hands-on agriculture-based programs to provoke meaningful experiences that inspire people to bring greater compassion to the ways they source, prepare, and eat food. We celebrate biodiversity and grow heirloom, open-pollinated seeds using sustainable methods.
Each week during the growing season you’ll be taking home a different combination of farm-fresh produce with a mix of seasonal greens, roots, herbs, fruits, and flowers. You’ll receive a pick list and demonstration on how to harvest a variety of heirloom plants, plus receive original recipes to create simple, delicious vegan dishes with your seasonal produce.
Sweet Farm also rescues and rehabilitates farm animals who come from various circumstances within the food system. These animals act as ambassadors to spread the message that they are unique, caring creatures who deserve our compassion and respect.
AND, Sweet Farm has developed educational programs and content to increase awareness around issues related to animal welfare, factory farming, and sustainability. These initiatives take many forms including on the farm events, tours, volunteer days, and community outreach, as well as online education and advocacy that reaches a global audience.
