SOCIAL JUSTICE AND VEGANISM, WITH MONICA CHEN OF FFAC.ORG, WED. JUNE 12 AT 6 PM

EMPOWERING PEOPLE TO HELP SAVE ANIMALS, THE ENVIRONMENT, AND OUR OWN HEALTH THROUGH OUR DAILY FOOD CHOICES. THAT is what it is all about!

EVERYONE. Not just those living a privileged lifestyle.

The reality is that there are food deserts in low-income communities of color. HOW CAN THESE DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES BE REACHED AND HELPED?

On Wednesday, June 12 at 6 pm, Monica Chen , National Programs Director of FFAC.org, will give a powerful presentation showing what YOU can do to make life-changing difference for those with less advantages than many of us enjoy.

She will show how factory farming disproportionately affects populations of low-income people, especially people of color.
Studies have shown that communities of color are more heavily impacted by climate change and the public health crisis. Monica will share these study results with us, and explain why it is true.

Secondly, she will talk about food colonization, how indigenous peoples are being offered the standard Western diet and what effect that is having on their health.

Thirdly, Monica will talk about solutions. What can be done to reach communities of color with the message of veganism? How will they catch the vision of vegan health, and be able to implement it for THEIR families in ways they can afford?
