Event Description

Join us in Times Square as we protest McDonald's and the cruel treatment of chickens in its supply chain.

Sadly, chickens raised and killed for McDonald’s menu items suffer tremendously. These smart and social animals are bred to grow so unnaturally big their own legs can’t support their weight. Their lives are just as bad, if not worse - crammed into dark sheds and trapped in filth, unable to engage in most natural behaviors. These horrific conditions are unacceptable.

For too long McDonald’s has valued profits over basic animal protections. Rather than commit to meaningful animal welfare standards, like over 90 of its competitors have, McDonald’s continues to drag its feet. It’s time for them to change.

If you haven't attended a Humane League, Animal Equality or Compassion Over Killing protest before, this is a great time to start! Our protests are extremely impactful and organized, and full of positive energy. This protest will be a silent demonstration outside of the restaurant and will last just over an hour. You will be asked to hold a sign and stand with the group as we form the protest line in front of McDonald's. Numbers are everything, so please bring your friends!

At some point, we will walk together to take a picture underneath the Times Square ad we have running as part of our coalition's campaign.

After the protest at about 8:30pm or 9pm we invite you to join us at PS kitchen, a restaurant just a few blocks away, for a fun after-protest celebration!

• Please make it a goal to bring at least one additional person
• We encourage you to dress presentably
• Please reach out directly to Sophia Deluz with any questions or if you have media contacts who would be interested in covering this grassroots activism

We cannot wait to see you there and to work alongside you to help animals!
