Event Description
Cargill Meats is a chicken 'processing' plant in London Ontario. Every day, around 80,000 chickens are brought in on trucks and slaughtered. That's 400,000-500,000 lives taken a week.
This is just one factory, in one city, out of the entire world.
Please join us to bear witness and bring awareness to the animals slaughtered in our city. Please share this event, ‘invite’ Facebook users and bring family and friends with you. The more people we have, the more of an impact we can make. But, big or small turnout, an impact will be made.
TIME:
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: If you are able to provide transportation, please use this page to create discussion about carpooling. The number 36 bus stops out front of Cargill.
LOCATION:
We will gather at the bus stop across from Cargill. At that point we move to the front of the slaughterhouse and/or Crumlin Side Rd and Oxford and then to the corner of Oxford and Veterans Memorial for public outreach and leafletting.
PARKING:
Please park along the side of the road on Artisans Crescent.
WHAT TO BRING:
Bring signs and leaflets if you’d like (loving and peaceful messages only please) your camera, and your HEART. Please be sure to bring water and weather appropriate clothing.
PLEASE NOTE:
We are a love-based group who believe that we can achieve more through compassion than through force. This includes anger vocalized to truck drivers. Although we are all angry at the trucks and what they are doing, we gather to show empathy for the animals, spread compassion, and raise awareness. ♥
