Come meet the resident alpacas, goats, donkeys, and mini-cow and learn about why we have this refuge. The main mission of this open-house series is to educate people about the benefits of adopting a plant-based diet. What better way then to share a wide variety of vegan food options? This is why our menu changes every week and the food is free to enjoy. People eat at long communal dining tables, so you are sure to make some new friends. You do not have to be vegan or even vegetarian to attend. There will also be live music during each brunch. After the meal you are welcome to enjoy the park-like property where you can meet the animals and explore the property.

November 24th's brunch will be our Thank Goodness Brunch and we have decided to combine it with our 10th Annual Local Harvest Dinner! (The Merriam-Webster Dictionary states that "Dinner" is the primary meal of the day and can be served mid-day) We will feature Acorn Squash Rings filled with a wild and brown rice and lentil pilaf, steamed broccoli, roasted Brussel sprouts and root vegetables, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, salad. Dessert will be sweet potato pie with whipped coconut cream. We will have a talent show; please message me if you want to perform. Thanks!

On December 8th we will have a flavorsome Burrito &Taco Bar, along with Nacho Fixin's. There will be a variety of fillings including pinto beans, black beans, brown rice, spinach, vegan chorizo, tofu, potatoes, corn, corn chips, vegan cheese, vegan nacho sauce, enchilada sauce, tomatoes, guacamole, v. sour cream, salsas, etc. We will have luscious coconut flan for dessert!

December 22: Solstice Brunch and Holiday Celebration. For this special brunch, we will have a Magnificent Lasagna resplendent with the seasonal colors of red (tomato sauce), white (vegan ricotta and mozzarella) and green (spinach). We will also have a bountiful Italian Salad and, of course, lots of toasty garlic bread. For dessert we will have Peppermint Bark Cheesecake. There will be a bowl of punch and mulled wine for the adults. Wear your ugliest Christmas sweater and you might win a prize!

January 5th: For our First Brunch of 2020 we will have a breakfast themed brunch. This meal will feature a return to the basics; we will have scrambled tofu, roasted potatoes and veggies, vegan sausages, and whole wheat waffles with your choice of organic maple syrup, or berries and fruit and nuts, too, if you like!

One child under 12 may attend for free with a paying adult. Children 2-12 are otherwise half-price -$7.50 Message us to let us know if you will be bringing a child who is eligible for a free admission. All proceeds help support the Dharma Farm Animal Refuge, a nonprofit microsanctuary. The ingredients are mostly organic. We try to buy local as well. The dishes are prepared by volunteers with a whole food plant-based diet is best approach, but sometimes there are also purely decadent vegan treats.
