Event Description
Event hosted by Vegans of the NC Triad.

Please join us at Dharma Farm Animal Refuge for our weekly Open house fundraising event. Tickets are $15 per adult to tour the refuge and meet the animals. A free farm style vegan brunch is offered to all those who attend. Come meet the animals as well as other like-minded people! Our mission is primarily to educate people about veganism. The buffet changes weekly so that our visitors may try a wide variety of plant-based options.

January, 27th: This week's brunch will feature all you can eat buckwheat (GF) or whole-wheat blueberry pancakes with organic maple syrup, healthy vegan sausage patties (GF), home-made granola, smoothie bowls, organic coffee, teas or hot apple cider.
February 3: This week's brunch will feature vegan chikun and waffles (gluten-free waffles will be available), steel cut oatmeal (GF) with toppings, fruit salad (GF) and organic coffee, teas, or hot apple cider.
February 10th: Special Romantic Valentines Brunch: Vegan Quiche, Tossed Green Salad, Danish Toasts (sprouted whole wheat toast topped with organic almond butter, organic strawberry jam, and fresh strawberries), Avocado Toasts, homemade Organic, Fair Trade, Chocolate hearts, organic coffee, teas, or hot apple cider. Please inquire about GF options for this brunch as they will have to be specially prepared. Also, for those interested, a chocolate making class follows this event using fair trade, organic vegan dark chocolate. It costs $20. Attend both events and recieve $5 off. Please contact us to register for this class.

Food is served buffet style and is prepared in the commercially designed kitchen (currently used only for events and cooking classes) and is served between 11:30 and 1 pm. Folks seat themselves at several communal tables in a recently remodeled room that is adjacent to the kitchen. When the weather is pleasant, people have the option of eating, or taking their coffee, outside on the back patio, which has a lovely view of the animals.
One child may attend for free with each adult who pays the $15 entrance fee to visit the farm animal refuge. Additional kids are $7.50.

*Spaces are also being filled by reservations submitted on Eventbrite, and elsewhere, I add those people to my guest list on here. Please leave a comment to let me know if there are children in your group.

The food is cooked with mostly organic ingredients, many sourced locally, and they are prepared with minimal oil and sugars. You are sure to meet some nice folks and there will be live music and sometimes other forms of entertainment.
Please do not bring your own pets and watch for oncoming vehicles on the driveway as it is only one way. There are inherent hazards when being in nature and around any animals. Please be cognizant that some plants, the terrain, the pond, insects, farm animals, our dogs and cats, all may pose potential danger. Come at your own risk.
