Join the Vegetarian Society of Hawaii for our vegan dine-out on Wednesday May 9th at Simple Joy Vegetarian Cuisine in Honolulu to honor our special guest, Irminne Van Dyken, MD.
Note: there will be no lecture at this event.
Our Vegan Menu:
Each delicious vegan meal includes one Summer Roll (1/2 order) plus choice of one Entrée.
1) Thai Curry —tofu, eggplant, carrot, cabbage, onion and mushrooms. Cooked with coconut milk and curry spice. Served with brown rice.
2) Veggie Feast—pan fried vegan fish with ginger, sauteed mushrooms, garlic, and green beans. Served with brown rice.
3) Mixed Vegetables with Ginger, including a variety of stir-fried vegetables and shiitake mushrooms with a gravy sauce. Served with brown rice.
4) Vegetable Lasagna with zucchini, carrots, spinach, and mushrooms, topped with vegan cheese.

There is a tiny parking lot behind the restaurant and side street parking on Piikoi and Pensacola. Parking along King Street (fronting the restaurant) is prohibited until 6:30 pm.
About our guest of honor:
Irminne Van Dyken MD, is a general and trauma surgeon who lives on Maui and works for the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group. She thoroughly enjoys her busy practice. It is especially rewarding for her to see her patients do a 180 and completely restructure their lives around plant based living – the changes are unprecedented.
