You are invited to enjoy a delicious vegan Vietnamese cuisine dine-out at the Bodhi Tree Meditation Center, 654 N. Judd Street, Honolulu, HI. This event is hosted by the Vegetarian Society of Hawaii in honor of VSH's September 2019 lecturer, Dr. Sailesh Rao.

Menu:
The sumptuous buffet will include: Vegan chicken tofu, mushroom pho, Mixed Mushroom Salad (steamed), either rice noodle saute or pad Thai, summer rolls, vegetable casserole, green papaya salad or banana flower salad (depending on availability), brown and sticky rice, and for dessert: banana tapioca and taro sticky rice.

Cost: $19.00 cash or check (all inclusive) to be paid when you arrive.

ALL proceeds go to the meal provider, Bodhi Tree Meditation Center.
VSH does not receive any funds from this event.

Directions and Parking:
The Bodhi Tree Meditation Center is in a residential neighborhood. From Liliha Street turn Northwest on N. Judd Street. Just where Judd takes a strong left turn, look for the driveway on the right and get ready to go uphill. There may be enough parking if we don't leave wide spaces between cars. Once at the top of the driveway, just past the big tree (as seen in the photo,) there is another driveway to the left that goes steeply uphill...with additional parking up there. Parking on Mahalo Street, Judd Street, or Liliha Street is also a possibility.

About our Guest of Honor:
Dr. Sailesh Rao is the Founder and Executive Director of Climate Healers, a non-profit dedicated towards healing the Earth’s climate. A systems specialist with a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, Stanford, CA, USA, conferred in 1986, Dr. Rao worked on the Internet communications infrastructure for twenty years after graduation. In 2006, he switched careers and became deeply immersed, full time, in the environmental crises affecting humanity. Dr. Rao is the author of the 2011 book, Carbon Dharma: The Occupation of Butterflies and the 2016 book, Carbon Yoga: The Vegan Metamorphosis. He is an Executive Producer of the trilogy of documentaries "THEY Don't Want You To See", The Human Experiment (2013), Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret (2014) and What The Health (2017), which explore the systemic causes of human and environmental ill health. He is also an Executive Producer of the new groundbreaking documentary,
"A Prayer for Compassion".
