Please join us for VSDC's second bike ride!
We'll meet at 10 am on Saturday, Oct 16.

This event is for those who are fully vaccinated only. Also please do not attend if you are sick or have been near someone who thinks they may have or have been exposed to COVID-19. VSDC greatly appreciates your cooperation.
Length: 22 miles
Difficulty level: strenuous
Elevation change: 500 ft up and 500 ft down
Bike time: ~2 hours at moderate pace.
Pace: moderate ~12 mph
Total time: ~4 hours (including stops, lunch and exploration).
Biking surface: paved
Route type: mostly trails, some roads and sidewalks.
Short breaks: Picnic Grove 10, Fletcher's Cove and Georgetown water front.
Lunch spot: Bethesda downtown
Food/Water: Bring your own vegan snacks and (non-alcoholic) beverage to enjoy. Please carry plenty of water!
Weather: we will not be riding in rain so stay tuned for Comments on this page.
To find us: We will be in the Rock Creek Park, Parking Lot 1. The organizers will be wearing green VSDC tee shirts.
Before the ride: we will do a quick check of our bikes. Be sure your bike is in good working order ahead of time.
During the ride: we will plan to stop often to let the group gather together and explore the sights and memorials.

- Use of intoxicants such as alcohol, cigarettes and/or illegal substances is banned during this event.
- Practice safe biking habits including:
* Wearing a bike helmet
* Keeping a safe distance between each other (bikes don't have brake lights and tailgating can easily result in crashes)
* Avoid side by side riding unless the road gives us ample opportunity
