Event Description
Virtual Coffee Hour with Acterra's Executive Director, featuring Hope Bohanec
About the Presentation:
Sentience in the Sea: In this presentation, we will dive deep into the world of fish, exploring the fishing industry, the environmental impacts of fishing, and the extensive scientific research confirming that fish are sentient individuals. Hope will discuss how our sentient sea cousins navigate complex lives, suffer pain, experience fear, feel joy, form friendships, and have individual personalities, preference, and emotions. We will also delve into the details of how we kill billions of fish each year and the fishing industry’s impact on our planet. We will learn who fish are and how we can help protect them and the oceans
