The U.N. has declared 2021 the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables. A perfect year to organise the second VegFest edition and to raise awareness about the importance of fruits and vegetables in human nutrition and health, food security and environmental protection. And because we want to take our message outside Bucharest as well, this year VegFest will take place in Iași.

Starting with 4th of June the main city boulevard will host some of the best vegan food vendors from all over the country, as well as activities that will promote a sustainable lifestyle.

Our event will take place at the end of a highly creative week - Romanian Creative Week, which will occur in Iași between 2nd - 6th of June. We feel inspired, therefore, to let our imagination run wild by experimenting with a multitude of flavors, tastes and sensations.

VegFest addresses everyone who wants to learn more about ways to easily reduce their impact on the planet and live more healthful lives.

Besides having a strong social and culinary component, VegFest also addresses the ecological aspect, as CO2 emissions from most plant based products are as much as 10-50 times lower than most animal based products. More than that, a plant based lifestyle also has the potential to make us all a lot healthier, and to protect biodiversity.

We also have a surprise this year: we will create a community garden. VegFest will leave behind a lively green memory to the community.

𝗖𝗢𝗩𝗜𝗗-𝟭𝟵 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗘: Our event will be organised in full compliance with the legal requirements in place at the time. We are aware that we might have to postpone the event to a more suitable time and we will let everyone know the new dates, if this situation occurs. We are confident the event will happen, while respecting all the necessary requirements. We will follow whatever guidance the government will communicate at the time, and everyone attending will be expected to comply as well.
