The Last Pig was conceived as a meditation on life, death, and personal ethics. The film was intended to be an immersive experience through which the viewer shares the character’s daily life and growing anxiety. It unfolds unhurriedly, often in real time; it asks the viewer to stop and experience bucolic farm life pitched against the steel and concrete of the slaughterhouse.
