Event Description
Event hosted by VINE Sanctuary. This is a free event.

In part two of this educational series for staff and volunteers at shelters and sanctuaries, you will learn how to diagnose and solve the most common problems that arise among roosters at sanctuaries. You will also learn the protocol for rehabilitating roosters used in cockfighting. (Aspects of this protocol often can be useful even for birds who were not used in cockfighting.)

This free educational event is offered by The Rooster Project in coordination with the Global Coalition of Farm Sanctuaries.

This is part two of a two part series. Part two will cover the rehabilitation of fighting roosters as well as tips for solving the most common problems that can arise with roosters of any kind. Part one covered essential facts about roosters as well as the time-tested methods used by VINE Sanctuary to maintain healthy flocks in which multiple roosters flourish. A brief review of part one will be included in part two, for those who missed the first session.

By attending these workshops, you will become better able to respond to the ongoing surge in roosters needing refuge, both by expanding the number of roosters at your sanctuary and by becoming better able to offer advice to people who want to surrender roosters due to behavior problems.

This workshop will be led by pattrice jones, who has more than 20 years experience caring for multiple roosters within flocks and whose protocol for the rehabilitation of roosters used in cockfighting has been adopted by numerous sanctuaries in the USA and abroad.
