The time to start thinking about saving seeds in the fall is in the spring! In this workshop designed for the backyard gardener, you will learn about the fundamentals of preparing and planting in order to collect seeds to save for the following years. Seed saving is not only fun, but it is one of the keys to sustainable gardening practices.

Among other things, in this class you will learn:

-The difference between hybrid, heirloom, and open pollinated seeds
-Plant population size for collecting seed
-Isolation practices
-Role of pollinator habitat in your garden
-Participating in seed exchanges and other opportunities for continued learning
