Event Description

This is a two day event, where we'll form teams to try and create some new solutions to help people to live plant based (or vegan) lives. It's likely that these solutions will be software - but there might be some people who are creative enough to find other approaches based on hardware, engineering, communications... we won't be allowed to use the venue for anything too messy like lab-grown meat experiments though!

Barclays Eagle Labs are letting us use their space for free this weekend, and it is a good location being so near to both Stem + Glory outlets, and two pubs that have a good vegan menu as well. Tea and coffee will be available for free, I am hoping to get free lunches and a prize for the coolest project but I won't be able to confirm this until later on!

We also plan to have some guests giving introductory talks and suggesting some challenges that you could take on over the weekend. The only one of these we can confirm at the minute is Paul Richardson from Full Circle, the zero waste shop who trade in the market square on Mondays https://fullcircleshop.co.uk/

The kind of projects we imagine coming out of it would be around ethical shopping, awareness of animal rights issues, nutrition or cooking advice, and help to find recipes and ingredients. Nobody is going to be told what to do, it's all up to you.

We can't provide computers for development, but if you bring a laptop we can help you find people to work with, suggest tools to use, wifi, and a limited amount of training can be provided as well for those who want it.
It is free of charge, and of course anything you develop is your property and it's up to you what you do with it after the event.

Unfortunately the venue does not have good wheelchair access to the first floor.
