We are pleased to have as our guest speaker Dr Jarrod Bailey, presenting on: **"How, and Why, Animal Research is Poor Science - and What Animal Free Research UK is Doing to Change Things"**

Jarrod is the Director of Science for Animal Free Research UK*. He received his degree and Ph.D. in genetics from his hometown Newcastle University, England, then spent seven years investigating the possible genetic causes of premature birth in humans, using human tissues and tissue culture.

For the past 17 years, Jarrod has worked for a number of organizations in the U.S. and the U.K., evaluating the scientific validity and human relevance of animal experiments in many areas of biomedical research and drug/product testing, and promoting the use of human-specific research methods in their place
