Event Description
Event hosted by Vegan Kalamazoo Meetup.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a FREE film showing at Kalamazoo Veganpalooza. Space is limited, so please RSVP to guarantee a spot.

Through this personal journey, THE LAST PIG raises crucial questions about equality, the value of compassion and the sanctity of life. Comis’ soul-bearing narrative carries us through his final year of farming pigs, the struggle to reinvent his life, and the ghosts that will haunt him forever.

It is our hope that THE LAST PIG will help propel a shift in our society’s relationship to non-human beings and our capacity for compassion.

THE LAST PIG is a documentary feature completed in February 2017. The film is currently screening at festivals and independent theaters. It has recently become available for community screenings. Distribution of the film to schools, universities, and libraries will be managed by Green Planet Films. The film will be offered for broadcast prior to DVD and VOD release. Fundraising is ongoing, and all support will help finance our extensive outreach efforts.

Free popcorn and Zevia soda will be provided by NHC.
