Michiana VegFest is a free vegan food festival, run entirely by a group of dedicated volunteers, to promote the ethical, health, and environmental benefits of eating a plant-based diet. The event will feature cooking demonstrations by local and national chefs as well as food—including free samples—from local and regional vendors. Lectures by prominent authors and health professionals will reveal animal agriculture's environmental impact, ethical issues associated with the meat and dairy industries, and health benefits of veganism.
Our festival is open to all members of our communities in southwestern Michigan and northern Indiana (“Michiana”) as well as students from neighboring colleges. VegFest encourages everyone to support local vegan-friendly businesses and organizations. In addition, Michiana VegFest has developed an ongoing program, VegEDU, to educate our community on health and environmental issues.
This will be our third annual VegFest, postponed from April 2020 to October 2021. As in 2019, it will take place in the only large regional venue, Century Center, but with increased space, which will help better distribute exhibitors and chef cooking demos. The event will also last an hour longer than in 2019!
