Event Description

MEET DEBORAH BLUM, FOUNDER OF GOATLANDIA, WED. FEB. 20 AT 6 PM

On Wed. Feb. 20 at 6 pm, meet a pioneer of the farm animal sanctuary movement.

Deborah Blum is a former restaurateur, swimwear designer and commercial pilot who flew corporate and cargo destinations.

Seven years ago, she simply wanted to leave big-city life for the calm and quiet of the Sonoma County countryside. She never imagined she’d run a nonprofit dedicated to saving orphaned, abused and neglected farm animals.

On Wed. Feb. 20, Deborah will tell her story. How and why she became vegan. How it came about that she started Goatlandia. And an EXCITING new project. Deborah is spearheading a new location which combines a farm animal sanctuary with an organic farm. This unique combination will serve as a model for the Green New Deal as well as for animal compassion advocates everywhere.

Hear the heartwarming stories of rescue and a new life. Each animal has a story, a personality and a streak of good luck that landed them at Goatlandia, Blum’s 2-acre sanctuary for farm animals. Blum and a team of 20 “awesome” volunteers care for the animals, from maintaining pens and pastures to feeding, grooming and bonding with the rescues.

And find out about the sensational new development and how you can get involved!

First, enjoy a DELICIOUS full-course vegan dinner. ALL vegan. ALL health-supporting. ALL you care to eat! Bring a container and take some home with you. And choose from a table full of vegan freebies, to enjoy during the week.

Location is the Opera Plaza Community Room, 601 Van Ness, San Francisco. Take the elevator to the mezzanine, then follow the sign down the hall to the right.

A fifteen dollar requested donation covers it all! You get a full-course vegan dinner, great socializing, a cutting-edge presentation and lots to take home!
