About the class. This is a monthly hands-on whole foods plant based cooking class, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Winston-Salem on Country Club Rd. We feature plant based recipes for a balanced diet in regards to protein, fats, and carbohydrates, but also essential phytonutrients, vitamins and minerals.
Favorite resources come from the NEWSTART Club, Dr. Fuhrman, Dr. Esselstyn, Dr. Campbell, Hallelujah Acres. We avoid excitotoxins (see Dr. Russell Blaylock). Because of my own food sensitivities and others who usually attend the class, we mostly prepare gluten free recipes, or at least wheat free; peanut free as well. At the end, we taste what we make.
Suggested donation: $10-15.
To a Healthy Triad!
P.S. This meetup is open to both church members and non-members, young and old, anyone who is interested in improving health and endurance by means of “Forks over Knives”. We come from a scientific, as well as a Biblical point of view. Science proves today that the instruction God gave people in the beginning: to eat a whole foods plant based diet (see Genesis 1:29), is still the best means to prevent and reverse disease. What?, How?, and When? we eat makes a difference to us, and the next generation. I am particularly excited to see young people having fun in the kitchen.
