Event Description

Join the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine on Thursday, March 21, to urge Baylor College of Medicine in Houston to stop using live animals to train emergency medicine residents and other participants.

Location: Please meet us on the sidewalk outside of the college of medicine at the intersection of Bertner Ave. and John Freeman Blvd. (GPS users, plug in this address: 1 Baylor Plaza, Houston, TX 77030).

Signs will be provided! This event will be held rain or shine. Please use nearby public parking.

At Baylor, trainees are instructed to cut into live pigs to practice invasive procedures. At the end of each session, the animals are killed. Currently, 94 percent (252 of 267) of surveyed emergency medicine residencies in the United States and Canada use only nonanimal training methods, making this use of animals ethically egregious and educationally substandard.

Help us modernize medical training at Baylor—because HoustonDeservesBetter.org!

We hope to see you at the demonstration! If you have any questions, feel free to contact Christine at [email protected].
