Let’s try the (100% plant-based!) Impossible Burger at Hamburger Heaven in Gardendale. This is a good opportunity to show support for their recent decision to start carrying this vegan option.

The Impossible Burger is the revolutionary, frighteningly realistic veggie burger that everyone is talking about. With its patented “heme” molecule and protein from wheat and potatoes, some people can’t believe it is made completely from plants.

Be sure to order vegan at the meetup. We are providing Hamburger Heaven special vegan hamburger buns for our night there. Also, you can always ask them to use their wheat bread, which is vegan, and ask them not to butter the bun/bread. It is $7.99 and worth every penny. It comes with pickles, onions, and lettuce, but they will make it how you like. Hamburger Heaven also offers French fries and a large tossed salad, which is vegan when you hold the cheese.

There are other Hamburger Heaven locations, but so far this is the only one with the Impossible Burger. And while there are a couple of other spots in town carrying the Impossible Burger, this is the only place that has a vegan option for the bun (the wheat bread plus the vegan hamburger buns they will have for our meetup). So, drive up I-65 for what we think will be the first ever vegan meetup in northern Jefferson County!
