Event Description

Florida Voices for Animals will be participating in the Hillsborough River & Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, Sept 18.
Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful presents the Hillsborough River & Coastal Cleanup as part of the Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup. Cleanups will be at various sites along the Hillsborough River, Alafia River, Little Manatee River, Lake Thonotosassa and other waterways throughout Hillsborough County.
This event will be part of our quarterly commitment by Florida Voices for Animals to pick up trash at Al Lopez park. We have adopted beautiful Al Lopez Park through the Tampa Bay Beautification's Adopt-A-Park Program. In exchange for FVA cleaning up litter and debris, removing invasive plants and performing other tasks at the park 4 times a year, the city posted a sign at the park to let others know that FVA has adopted this park. This is a great way to beautify our community while at the same time letting others know about FVA.
Wear comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dirty and shoes (closed-toe). Bring water in a reusable container and you may also want to bring sunscreen and a visor/ball cap. If anyone has the tools to grab trash without leaning over, please bring those. We will provide garbage bags and gloves. Other volunteers from the community will be joining us on this day.
Mark your calendar for this fun and worthwhile day.
Thanks and hope you can join us this year.
