Please join the Veg Society of DC Book Club's discussion of "It Can’t Happen Here" by Sinclair Lewis.

***This is not an in-person meeting. We are planning a conference call (possibly with video options). People who confirm their attendance will get the sign-in information the weekend before the meeting.***

First published in 1935, Lewis juxtaposes political satire with the realistic rise of a president who becomes a dictator to save the nation from welfare cheats, sex, crime, and a liberal press.

To participate you must read at least half the book—and RSVP at least two days before the meeting.

The VSDC Book Club usually meets in vegetarian restaurants in DC or nearby Maryland or Virginia. People who RSVP yes will get the location (in March). The location will not be posted online.
