The Annual Compassion for Animals and Environment Conference (formerly titled Peaceable Kingdom Conference) is being held at Bucks County Community College, Rollins Center Gallagher Room, 275 Swamp Road, Newtown on Saturday, September 21, 2024, 9am to 3pm. The conference is sponsored by the Bucks County Community College Bucks County Community College Business Innovation and Legal Studies Department.

The Compassion for Animals and Environment Conference (CAE) is the only conference whose goals are to: respect animals' emotions and intelligence; increase our reliance on plant-based foods; be kind to Earth, its inhabitants, and ourselves; and, strengthen the human-animal bond.  There is a $30 per person registration fee, and pre-registration is required due to limited seating.  The registration fee includes a vegan boxed lunch catered by CulinArt Group and a donation to an animal rescue organization. The student registration rate is $20 per person and the Bucks County Community College student registration rate is $15 per person. The featured speakers and exhibitors are prominent leaders in animal welfare, rescue, science, law, and social justice. The CAE workshops emphasize the conference goals, invite participants to examine their personal relationship with animals, and encourage participants to be open to adopting plant-based eating in small ways.

Everyone in the general public of all ages are invited to attend. Participants can expect to hear thought-provoking topics fromLindsay R. Mehrkam, PhD (The Psychology of Animal Hoarding); Ariel Lefkovits, Humane Society of the United States (Stopping the Puppy Mill Pipeline); Shannon Gray, MS, RND, Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (Diet and Climate Change); William D. Oetinger, Esquire, Grim, Biehn, and Thatcher (Bucks County Animal and Environment Case Law); and Cheryl Baldi (poet, teacher, and editor).

The conference exhibitors, also focused on the conference goals,share information with participants on how to take active steps towards a plant-based diet, purchase humane products, encourage empathy, and support animal rescues. Conference Exhibitors include Bucks County SPCA, American Anti-Vivisection Society, Tabby’s Place, The Pig Placement Network, Indraloka Animal Sanctuary, Rowdy Girl Sanctuary, Wildlife in Need PA, Physicians Council for Responsible Medicine, Volta Writing Center, and more.
