Antiracism in Animal Advocacy: Igniting Cultural Transformation

Inspired by Encompass’ racial equity trainings, this collection of essays was written by farmed animal protection leaders who are committed to exploring and prioritizing racial equity, as we work to create a more effective and just animal protection movement. We wish to document our stories and processes in an exploratory space from which we can grow and use our words to hold ourselves and our peers accountable, ultimately creating new paths forward.

Join Jasmin Singer, Aryenish Birdie, Michelle Rojas-Soto, Christopher Eubanks, PJ Nyman, and Unny Numbudiripad for a discussion (and party!) on the book. We’ll also have special guests Ana Bradley, Executive Director of Sentient Media, and Martin Rowe of Lantern Publishing & Media.

We’ll have fabulous prizes from the Kitten Lady, Lush Cosmetics, Tabitha Brown, Dr. Bronner’s, Tofurky, Partake Foods, Isa Leshko, Jasmin Singer, and the Equity Literacy Institute. We’ll announce winners during the event so make sure you register today!

This is a free event, however, we’d love for you to purchase the book to support our work.

Encompass’ mission is to increase effectiveness in the animal protection movement by cultivating racial representation, equity, and interdependence while empowering advocates of the global majority. Learn more at https://encompassmovement.org/
