Barbara Youel is a plant-based cook and a USTA
league player at Towpath Tennis Center in Akron.
She is also a runner, writer, and educator who
earned her Ph.D. in American Studies from Case
Western Reserve University. She shares her
home with Malcolm and felines Ava Rose, Flash,
Boze and Lulu. Lean Green Living LLC was
created to promote a healthy, plant-based
lifestyle. “First Serve: 40 Delicious Plant-Based
Recipes for a Year of Tennis Grand Slams & Club
Matches” is her first cookbook.
