The Animal & Vegan Advocacy (AVA) Summit is dedicated to creating a world in which non-human animals are taken out of the food system and other human uses, and replaced by non-animal proteins, technology and other innovations. It aims to accelerate progress and create systemic change for animals by empowering advocates and organizations to increase their impact.

The summit welcomes people who come to their journey with any motivation, including animal, environmental, personal health, or social justice, and we support numerous strategies and tactics for advancing this vision, from grassroots activism to highly specialized engagement, from individual outreach to food systems change, and from corporate engagement to legislative change to advancing animal-free technologies. 

The AVA Summit welcomes nearly all aspects of animal & vegan advocacy, inclusive of: animal rights, animal welfare, non-animal issues stemming from animal farming and other animal use (such as climate change and farmworker abuse), and issues facing our movement (such as promoting racial justice and gender equality). While farmed animals and food systems will be a focus of the inaugural event, wild animals and all areas of animal exploitation will have a place. 

The AVA Summit’s program will emphasize topics relating to systemic change (such as changing corporate policy or legal protections) but all tactics including animal sanctuaries, civil disobedience, and individual change will be welcomed to discuss in an atmosphere of mutual respect. Violence and threatening activity will not be permitted, nor will condoning of such activity. Content will focus roughly on 60% North American content and 40% international activities.
